Home Remedies for Tooth Infection
Today, natural antibiotics are believed to be a better choice than
the common antibiotics. One of the reasons is they have less side
effects. Furthermore, due to over-use of antibiotic, pathogens now
seem to be immune to heavy doses. Human should start to understand
the function of natural antibiotics in the context of disease
healing as well as health maintenance.
Olive Leaf Extract
Since centuries ago, the leaves and fruit of olive have been used
for beauty and health. Olive leaf has been increasingly popular as a
natural antibiotic because it contains various properties that are
anti-infection. For example, a compound called oleuropein in the
leaf is known to be an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent. Its
antibacterial properties have been verified by Dr. Morton Walker,
the author of "Olive Leaf Extract" and the leaf is said to be
helpful in reducing pain caused by inflammation.
Oil of Oregano
Oil of oregano has been proven scientifically as one of the most
powerful and most effective natural antibiotics on earth. It is a
natural antispasmodic and antimicrobial remedy. People have been
using it for treating tooth abscess, an infection which may spread
to the jaw and cause severe pain. Oil of oregano also has numbing
properties to help reduce the pain. The oil has basically no side
effects and can be used both internally and externally.
Clove is a classic home remedy for toothache. It has been used since
hundreds of years ago to heal wounds and fight teeth and gum
infections. You may use it whole or crushed in the cavity. If you
prefer to use clove oil, it is just as effective by applying to the
infected tooth with the help of a cotton bud. Clove oil is also a
very good antiseptic that it helps relieve toothache.
Please bear in mind that cloves will take a while to fully work. The
longer it is left in place, the more effective the outcome will be.
Many people claim that tooth infections are cleared up in a couple
of days after using cloves.
Tea Tree Oil
Another good natural antibiotic for tooth infection is tea tree oil.
This great remedy is derived from the melaleuca tree in New South
Wales, Australia and has been a traditional solution for aboriginal
tribes since centuries ago. The Australian army has it in their
first aid kit as it can be used as an antiseptic.
For normal tooth infection, you may brush your teeth several times
in a day with a few drops of the oil on your toothbrush. If
infection causes a tooth abscess, dilute several drops of the oil in
a cup of water and use it as a mouthwash.
garlic produces an antibacterial compound called allicin. It is used as a home remedy to fight against tooth
infection. Based on a statement by the University of Maryland
Medical Center, garlic also helps
treat common cold, cardiovascular
disease and cancer. Use raw garlic for best results, but it comes
with unwanted odor.
Use natural antibiotics as home remedies
for tooth infections for short term only, when a dentist is out of
your reach. You still need to pay a visit to the dental clinic to get your
problem solved eventually.
