How to Make Vegetable and Cheese Tart?


Serve: 4



12 oz prepared pie dough,
12 oz mixed frozen vegetables
3/4 cup heavy cream
6 oz grated cheddar cheese
salt and pepper


  • Roll out the pie dough on a lightly floured work surface (Thaw the dough in the first place if frozen).

  • Use the dough to line a 9-inch tart pan. Prick the base before transferring to the refrigerator. Chill for 45 minutes.

  • Preheat the oven to 400F.

  • Use the foil to line the pastry shell. Half-fill the pastry shell with dried beans.

  • Put the pan on a baking sheet and bake for 18 minutes. Remove the beans and foil.

  • Place the pastry shell back to the oven and further bake for 6 minutes. Make sure it turns golden.

  • Remove from the oven. Let cool to room temperature.

  • While waiting, set a pan of salted boiling water and cook the frozen vegetables. Drain and let cool.

  • Preheat the oven again to 400F.

  • Mix the cooked vegetables and cream. Add in salt and pepper to taste.

  • Transfer the mixture into the pastry shell and sprinkle the cheese over.

  • Bake in the preheat oven for 18 minutes. Make sure the cheese has melted and turning golden.

  • Ready to serve.
