How to Make Tomato, Red Onion and Herb Salad?


Serve: 6



3 lb sliced tomatoes
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 sliced red onions
a handful chopped fresh herbs (mixture of basil, cilantro and tarragon)
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons vegetable oil (for dressing)
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar (for dressing)


  • In a shallow bowl, nicely arrange the tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Make rings from the onion slices and place over the tomatoes.

  • Sprinkle the herbs over the top.

  • Mix the oil and vinegar in a jar and pour over the salad.

  • Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

  • Remove the salad from the refrigerator, unwrap, stir gently and serve.
