Mashed Garlic Recipe

How to Make Mashed Garlic?

Ingredients:

 

4 lb mealy potatoes
16 crushed garlic cloves
1 cups milk
12 tablespoons butter
pinch of grated nutmeg
salt
ground black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley, to garnish
 

Preparation:

  • Cut the potatoes into chunks.

  • Boil a large pan of water. Add in a pinch of salt. Put the potatoes carefully in the boiling water and cook for 15 minutes. Make sure the water is enough to cover the potatoes fully.

  • Add in the garlic and cook for further 15 minutes. Make sure the potatoes are tender. Spoon 6 tablespoons of the cooking liquid to a separated bowl and drain the remaining water away.

  • Return the reserved cooking liquid to the pan. Add in the milk, and simmer. Return the potatoes and garlic to the pan. Add in the butter and toss gently.

  • Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes. Season with the grated nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Use a wooden spoon to beat the potato mixture until fluffy. Garnish parsley and serve.
